A Cat, a Moon and Other Stuff

A Cat, a Moon and Other Stuff is a nonsense poem from the book The Sillyverse: Nonsense Poems for Kids by Genevieve and Kerrin Revell. Published by Austin Macauley and released Jan 31st 2019.

Weird

The following is a poem out of the Sillyverse and is called “Weird”.

The Sillyverse is a place where you can play chess with Bigfoot and the Yeti, use a jellyphone, meet an upside down cat and an upright bat, find a poem that isn’t there and see penguins having epic rap battles. It’s much more fun than the universe, what a wonderful place is the Sillyverse.
This charming collection of poems and illustrations will have you laughing until you spit your juice out… and then for a wee bit longer.

Available in hardcover, paperback and e-book.

Update on First Sketch

We have just wrapped up filming on our first sketch, which we will be using to go for funding and now we move into post production.

It has been a really fun process and everyone involved from cast to crew has been great. We have captured some really great performances which are going to look amazing once it is all pieced together.

Time to get started on the edit…

A Sketchy Start

Today was the first real step in The Aghast Raisin Man Show becoming a reality. We started filming some scenes for a sketch.

We are going to be filming a number of sketches over the next few months which we will put online to showcase and promote what The Aghast Raisin Man Show will be all about.

We have been lucky to find and work with some amazing actors/actresses and crew.

We are really looking forward to our second day filming now.

It Has Begun

Happy New Year

Well it is 2015 and we are really looking forward to it.

This year we will be filming some sketches that will be included on the Aghast Raisin Man DVD when it is released. We are looking at filming the entire show in 2016.

We will also be keeping you up to date on the pre-production shenanigans.

So stay tuned!

The Aghast Raisin Man Theme

We recently went into the recording studio with a great band called Tweed to record the Aghast Raisin Man Show Theme Tune.

We had a few meetings with Tweed to discuss ideas for the theme tune and once it was finalised we went into Earwig Studios and recorded it. The recording process was quite chilled out and exciting.

Originally it was just to be the theme tune for The Aghast Raisin Man Show (which it still will be) but now it will also be the official Loopy Theme Tune too.

Tweed somehow managed to compose it brilliantly from my (possibly vague) instructions. It is exactly what I had in mind. They really are talented musicians to be able produce a piece of music from a description I have only ever had in my head.

It is great to be moving forward, having the theme music is a big step.

Storyboarding the Aghast Raisin Man Show

We are really getting into our storyboarding now. It is an interesting process as what you see in your head while reading the script and how you imagined them whilst writing the script may not match the final storyboard.

It is also a delicate process as there is a need to get every shot and the entire sequence correct. Every shot type has a different meaning and so it is important to know about them all before you begin.

Storyboarding sketch comedy is also a different challenge in itself as there are many different unrelated scenes and some are parodies of tv shows or movies. When they are parodies you need to know exactly what they are parodying and how those shows/movies etc are shot and copy them as best you can.

It is also important to let the comedy and story flow.

With all of that in mind we are making our way through the scripts. Some scenes are easy and others require a lot of re-working in order to get them right.

We are having fun storyboarding and in the end that is the most important thing.
